Hunt To Find Sandra Cantu's Killer

The suitcase discovered by farmworkers at about 10 a.m. yesterday held the little body of missing Sandra Cantu. Ths Tracy police informed her mother, two older sisters, an older brother and her grandparents. Sandra's mother, Maria Chavez, passed out when she heard the news and was taken to the hospital. Sandra's father, Danny Cantu was at the 9pm press conference, met with Tracy Police Chief Janet Thiessen. She shook his hand and told him she was gone, then made this stern announcement:

"We will be determining the person or persons responsible for this reprehensible act, and we will bring them to justice."

While the chief spoke, the FBI and Tracy police seal off the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park. Once again, another home was searched, along with the Church Missionary Independent at 1100 W. Clover Road. The church is about three-forths of a mile from the Sandra's home. A resident said Sandra may have left the park to visit the church.

No suspect has been named or any arrests following last nights search. Police refused to specify any leads. The massive 11 day search for Sandra has focused on the Cantu's neighborhoods. At least 5 homes have been searched and 6 vehicles towed. 4 of the 6 were returned to the owners.

Some of those residents and volunteers came to hear the announcement, had gathered in tears.

"I'm so angry right now. I'm mad. I'm pissed. I want all these pedophiles and all these people that do this to be put into protective custody," said Tracy resident Eddie Ruiz.
