Military Drone Mistaken for UFO on D.C.’s Capital Beltway

Yahoo- Some folks in the Washington, D.C., area are buzzing about what they thought was a UFO atop a flatbed truck on the Capitol Beltway.

Turns out the disc-shaped object was just a run-of-the-mill military drone.

MyFoxDC reports that what drivers saw—and some photographed—around 11 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 270, and then later on Interstate 495, was an X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System being transported from Edwards Air Force Base in California to the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland for testing.

During its travels through the D.C. area, local station WTOP reported a flurry of activity on Twitter about the strange-looking object.

This not the first time a drone was mistaken for something alien. Last year, a drone being transported by flatbed to Pax River for practicing aircraft carrier takeoffs and landings was also mistaken for a UFO, the Daily Caller reported.

Police: Man Defecated In Parking Lot Before Robbing Bank

NEW MILFORD — A 55-year old man was arrested Friday after allegedly defecating in the parking lot of a bank before robbing it, police said.

Russell Mace of New Milford faces charges of conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, fifth-degree larceny, second-degree breach of peace and two counts of risk of injury to a child, police said.

A woman came into the Union Savings Bank at 41 East St. on Friday afternoon and told a teller that she had seen a man in the parking lot pull down his pants and defecate.

Moments later, Mace came into the bank and demanded money, said New Milford Police Lt. Larry Ash.

The teller handed Mace several thousand dollars, Ash said.

Police recognized Mace on the bank's surveillance footage. Mace had prior active warrants for a purse snatching crime, Ash said. They found him in New Britain.

His wife Erin Mace, also of New Milford, was arrested at the same time. She also had active warrants for her role in alleged purse snatching crimes, Ash said.

Police said Russell Mace was also charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor because his 1-year-old and 4-year-old children were in the car at the time of the bank robbery.

Police said the children were also present during the alleged purse snatching crimes. The children are now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families, Ash said.

Police are also investigating whether Erin Mace was involved in the bank robbery because she was present in the car as well, Ash said.

Bail was initially set at $500,000, but when he was arraigned Monday, it was reduced to $150,000, Ash said.

He is due back in court Jan. 4.

State cops: Owner of construction company Tasered after driving drunk on Merritt
TRUMBULL -- An owner of one of the state's largest construction companies was arrested after police said he was driving drunk in his Cadillac and plowed through a construction site on the Merritt Parkway, forcing workers to leap out of the way to avoid being hit.

Police said that when they finally caught up with David Brennan officers had to Taser him to get him under control.

Brennan, 45, of Sconset Drive, Fairfield, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, running from police, first-degree reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond pending arraignment in Superior Court on May 10.

Brennan is an owner of John J. Brennan Construction of Shelton.

According to State Police, last Tuesday night Trooper Edmund Vayan was parked in a construction area in the right lane southbound near exit 48 on the Merritt Parkway when he heard some loud thuds coming from behind his patrol car. He said he looked in his rear view mirror and saw the headlights of a car traveling toward him knocking down the construction barrels and cones blocking the lane.

The car, a 2009 silver Cadillac, veered around Vayan's police car at the last minute and then continued driving along the closed lane at about 80 miles per hour, state police said.

They said construction workers began diving out of the way as the car sped through the construction zone, barrels and cones flying.

The trooper pursued the Cadillac as it sped along the parkway. As it reached the Fairfield rest area other troopers who were waiting for it, dropped stop sticks into the Cadillac's path blowing out two of its tires. But instead of slowing, police said the car accelerated, careening across the roadway.

Eventually police said they were able to box the Cadillac in with their patrol cars and bring it to a stop. But police said Brennan, who smelled of alcohol, refused officers' orders to surrender and they had to Taser him. As Brennan was being taken away police said he kept mumbling that it was his birthday. When police asked Brennan why his car had a Florida registration they said he replied that he claims residency in Florida to get discounts at Disney World.

HAHAHAHA!! I needed a good laugh.

Where's the Beef?

This doosey from the Greenwich Time police blotter made me laugh:

"Jeffrey Richard Stewart, 55, of 104 Round Hill Road, was arrested and charged Sunday with shoplifting a $34.55 steak from Whole Foods Market on East Putnam Avenue. He posted $250 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Dec. 20."

LOL the guy lives on Round Hill Road.. His mansion is probably worth 5 million dollars easily and he's stealing a 30 dollar steak- that's rich!

Mayor Bill Finch Laughs off Family Guy's Shot at Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT -- When it comes to Bridgeport's appeal, Mayor Bill Finch says the last person people should trust is an animated talking baby named Stewie.

Sunday night's episode of Family Guy -- a two-hour Christmas special titled Road to the North Pole -- includes a shot at Bridgeport, which the show depicts as a worldwide leader in "wild dogs and gas stations without pumps" among other claims to infamy.

But Finch said Monday he's laughing off the criticism -- and using the spotlight as an opportunity to promote the city.

"First, we have to remember it's humor," Finch said. "I don't think anything in America is beyond Family Guy trying to make fun of it. It is by the way by Stewie, who we don't particularly like if you're a fan of Family Guy. ... He comes across as a smarty-pants and a know-it-all, so consider the source."

In the episode, Brian (a talking dog) and Stewie are outside the gates of what they believe to be Santa's Workshop.

The large doors swing open and the two are left standing at the foot of towering factories and black smoke billowing out of smokestacks.

As the duo looks on at the gloomy cityscape in front of them, Stewie remarks, "This can't be Santa's Workshop. This looks like Bridgeport, Connecticut!"

Brian retorts, "Oh boy, here come the letters."

The next scene shows a supposed Bridgeport resident (with, for whatever reason, a Boston accent), who speaks out loud as he writes, with a variety of curses and other angry exclamations mixed in, "I'll have you know that Bridgeport is among the world leaders in abandoned buildings, shattered glass, boarded-up windows, wild dogs and gas stations without pumps."

The Family Guy episode now joins the growing genre of the snarky urban putdown: A city or small town is insulted by late-night TV host/cartoon show/newspaper columnist, provoking a mostly feigned spasm of outrage from civic boosters and shrugs from most of the citizenry too busy to give a hoot. Harrisburg, Pa., Bayonne, N.J., Dubuque, Iowa, Youngstown, Ohio. Flint, Mich. The list goes on and on.

Finch was a good sport and figured the episode offered an opportunity to talk about the city's positive side.

"Bridgeport is much different than that," he said. "The image of Bridgeport has changed over the many years that I've lived here. It's a wonderful place to live. We've got great sources of entertainment in the city at the arena, the ballpark and the zoo and the discovery museum."

The image of Bridgeport as a decaying city filled with black smoke and old factories is one the city is trying to shake.

The Family Guy portrayal is a sharp contrast to the recent "Surprise, It's Bridgeport," ad campaign launched by Finch. The ads feature bright colors, the waterfront, the city's restaurants and nightlife and athletic events, culminating with Finch delivering the tagline while fly-fishing in the Pequonnock River.

Finch said the Family Guy letter-writer's Boston accent made the show's portrayal less credible, especially given Fairfield County's allegiance to the Yankees.

"You know, we're solidly Yankee fans down here, I think that's pretty clear," he said. "If it had a Bronx accent I think people would have been happy with it, but the fact that it had a Boston accent was particularly irritating, especially to the Yankee fans down here. It certainly made the segment less credible, and it still got you guys down here reporting about how wonderful Bridgeport is."

3 Charged in Stamford Halloween Superhero Fight

Hahaha! What a bunch of losers!
STAMFORD (WABC) -- Police in Stamford had a comic book melee on their hands when they responded to a report of a fight involving Spiderman, Captain America and Poison Ivy.

The incident happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Halloween.

When officers arrived, they found a non-super hero victim on the ground being attacked by Captain America, while Spiderman launched a simultaneous attack on Captain America.

Officers quickly separated the combatants and determined that the non-costumed victim on the ground was Spiderman's father, and that he and Captain America had gotten into a dispute that turned physical. Spiderman then attacked Captain America.

At some point after the fight was broken up, Poison Ivy was able to hit Captain America once before she was taken into custody.

Officers later determined that in fact the combatants were not the real super heroes, merely regular people dressed in costumes.

Captain America was identified as 25-year-old Michael Sanchez, and police said Spiderman was actually 21-year-old Vincent Decaro. Poison Ivy was 18-year-old Nicole Bitterle, of Toms River, New Jersey.

Both super heroes and the villainess were arrested and released after posting bonds. They are scheduled to appear in court on November 12.

Sanchez is facing third-degree assault charges, while Decaro is charged with third-degree assault and interfering with a police officer. Bitterle was charged with breach of peace.

Three Charged in CT Superhero Fight

STAMFORD -- In a fistfight involving costumed superheroes, Captain America got the best of Spider-Man -- then Poison Ivy jumped into the fray.

The melee of masked avengers -- and one super-villain -- was broken up when Stamford police arrived and arrested them over the Halloween weekend.

Police officials say officers responded to a fight in the Bell Street parking garage early Sunday morning and found a man dressed as Captain America holding a man on the ground and punching him, Assistant Police Chief Jon Fontneau said.

The fight was reported 1:33 a.m. Sunday by a parking garage employee. It began when a 25-year-old wearing a Captain America costume got into an argument that turned physical with the father of a Stamford man who turned 21 Sunday, police Lt. Elizabeth Erickson said.

Michael Sanchez, 25, of 48 Wardwell St., Stamford, Vincent DeCarlo, 21, of Westhill Circle, Stamford was charged with third-degree assault and interfering with police for a fight Saturday night during which he wore a Spider-Man costume as he fought with the father of Vincent DeCarlo, 21, of Westhill Circle, Stamford.

DeCarlo wore the Spider-Man outfit and allegedly punched Sanchez as police tried to break up the scuffle. DeCarlo's girlfriend, Nicole Bitterli, 18, of Toms River, N.J., was dressed as Poison Ivy -- a villain in Batman comics and films -- and hit Sanchez during the altercation.

DeCarlo's father -- who did not wear a costume -- was not charged in the incident.

DeCarlo was bloodied during the fight and taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment.

Sanchez was charged with third-degree assault. DeCarlo was charged with interfering with police and third-degree assault. Nicole Bitterli, 18, of Toms River, N.J., faces a single count of breach of peace for a fight Saturday nigh during which she was dressed as Poison Ivy.

Party City: Halloween's Never Over!

I hate to be mean, but I walk into Party City in Port Chester, and get in line behind a devastatingly beautiful creature that was being waited on.

I wait for a minute, realize she's one of those people who will be a while, so I go grab my phone out of my car and snap some pics while innocently looking like I'm texting on my phone:

I just wish I could've gotten her face in a shot, she didn't show her face to me until she turned away to leave and it was only for a second, but she looked like ET and the wig somehow was able to look even worse from the front.

I'm so bad >=]

'Top Gun 2' in Development, with Star Tom Cruise Reportedly Set to Return

Knowing the eighties fan that I am you would think that I would've seen the original Top Gun the entire way through, but I haven't! Kudos to sequeling after so long, look at Wall Street 2 for example! Let's hope they give it class. ....But, Tom Cruise is in it.. Hmm..

NY Daily News- Paramount Pictures is feeling the need for speed again.

According to Vulture, the studio has officially has made offers to producer Jerry Bruckheimer ("Pirates of the Caribbean") and director Tony Scott ("The Taking of Pelham 123") to develop a sequel to 1986's "Top Gun."

Christopher McQuarrie will pen the script and Tom Cruise is slated to return, albeit in limited capacity, as Maverick.

McQuarrie's rep confirmed to EW.com Thursday that the screenwriter had, in fact, been approached to write the film.

"Top Gun 2" has been one of the classic long-rumored sequels, but Bruckheimer only told MTV this past July that talks for the film were beginning to get serious. The problem would be setting the story in an atmosphere that focuses less and less on the dogfights that defined the original film, also directed by Scott.

"The aviation community has completely changed since we made the movie a long time ago," Bruckheimer told MTV. "So we have to find a way in and how to incorporate the Maverick character into it."

According to Vulture, McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects," the upcoming "The Tourist") has figured out a way to do just that. Cruise has reportedly agreed to take a smaller role in the sequel on the condition that it's not an "obvious" one, i.e. a flight instructor for the new class of pilots.

Funny Ass Spam Comments..

Spam comments amaze me... The graphic, odd, and not quite English language phrases that contain weird links that manage to slip through the spam filter make me laugh! I decided to paste a few of them here to show you just how creative these spambots/people get:

Grateful, he wrapped his arms around his friend and buried his face in his neck. With one last pat on Erikins arm, she left them to climb the staircase alone. He nodded, slid an arm about Irins shoulders, and led his truemate from the room. They had fought about it too often for Eyrhaen not to know what he meant. He kept everyone else safe from her while she fought for control. Shed dissolved the solid rock and reversed a spell that should have been more permanent. But maybe we could eat first? Tossing her ponytail behind her shoulders, Eyrhaen got to her knees and crawled forward. She could still turn away and leave. Were bound, I cant help that, but the two of you should be together. He says we need to all make our choices, and his heart chooses you. Now theres the Eyrie weve known all our lives. She groaned, twisting the wrists in Tykirs grasp, rotating the hips pinned under Lanthans weight. He wasnt talking to her. Dont stop, she begged, clutching sheets. Dangerously serious behind his smile, he dragged his gaze back up to meet hers. Without variety, our culture would grow evenmore stagnant. He sat in the chair, watching her. She was so close She freed her other hand so she could wrap both arms securely around his neck.
