Bret Michaels Rushed to ICU with Brain Hemorrhage

People.com- Bret Michaels's health has taken a turn for the worse After an excruciating headache late Thursday night- the star was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem), according to a source close to the situation.

Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. "After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," the source says.

The rocker's latest hospital visit follows his emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12. There is no word yet whether this new development is related to the rocker's recent appendectomy or to his diabetes.

After his appendectomy, Michaels remained in the hospital under his doctors' care – then transferred to a rehab facility specializing in diabetic patients.

As he was recovering, Michaels – who was still in the running to win this season of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice – seemed to be in good spirits and updated fans on his progress.

"They told me that if I had gone on stage like I wanted to, [my appendix] likely would have ruptured and I could have died," he wrote in a note to his fans. "There is just no way around the fact that getting your appendix out HURTS. I have a pretty good threshold for pain, but this one hurts."

Phil Spector's Ex Wife Reported Missing

VAN NUYS -- Police are searching for the ex-wife of convicted music producer Phil Spector.

Annette Merar, 65, was reported missing from her Van Nuys home Friday, according to Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Merar is 5 feet 2 inches and 160 pounds and is diabetic, according to family members who say the missing woman may exhibit "possible confusion."

In a 2004 message on the Fairfax High School class of 1961 Web site, Merar said she had been living in Valley Glen near Van Nuys and that she was a retired teacher with a son named Damien.

After graduating from Fairfax High, which Spector also attended, Merar went into the music business and became the front singer for "Spector's Three." She married Spector in February 1963 and he named a record company after her, Annette Records.

The marriage ended when Spector began seeing Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett, one of the Ronettes. The two were married in 1968 and divorced six years later.

Spector, 69, married Rachelle Short, 29, in September 2006, while he was under arrest for the murder of 40-year-old actress Lana Clarkson.

Clarkson was found shot to death in his Alhambra mansion in February 2003.

His first trial ended in a hung verdict, but in April, Spector was convicted of second-degree murder in the case

Spector, known for his "Wall of Sound" technique, is currently serving a sentence of 19 years to life in prison.

Anyone with information on Merar's whereabouts was asked to call the LAPD Van Nuys station at (818) 374-9500.

NYC Parking Tickets Pile Up on Windshield of Dusty Minivan With Dead Body Inside

NEW YORK - A man's decomposing body inside a minivan covered in parking tickets went undiscovered for weeks because the vehicle's windows were apparently tinted and ticketing officers don't normally search cars, police said Friday.

George Morales, 59, died naturally from heart disease, the medical examiner's office said Friday. The body was found in the backseat Wednesday when a city marshal tried to tow the vehicle from beneath an overpass on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, police said. He was believed to have been living out of the white Chevrolet minivan, which had North Carolina plates.

But his daughter, Jennifer Morales, 29, told the Daily News he had been living with her family in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. She said she last saw him in early May and had called police.

"The window was cracked open. I don't understand how no one noticed him. They just gave him tickets," she told the Daily News.

She said her father was a handyman who suffered from diabetes. But police do not have a missing person's report on record for Morales.

It wasn't clear exactly how many tickets were on the minivan's windshield when the body was discovered. Witnesses had reported a foul odor near the vehicle.

The Morales family plans to cremate the remains. Officials used X-rays taken of him in 2007 at Elmhurst Hospital Center to positively identify him, Jennifer Morales told the newspaper.
