New Site In Brittanee Drexel Search

Rocnow.com- South Carolina law enforcement officials have identified a “location of interest” in the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel, a South Carolina news station reported this weekend.

WBTW-TV reported Saturday that police had pinpointed another location to search for the 17-year-old junior from Gates Chili High School. A specific location has not been released and investigators could not be reached Sunday night.

Drexel disappeared during a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach last year.

Brittanee Drexel Still Missing 4 Months Later

MYRTLE BEACH,SC (WMBF) - The mother of a missing New York teenager is back in Myrtle Beach this week, hoping new developments will answer questions about her disappearance.

"I miss my daughter. I miss her so much," Dawn Drexel said Thursday. "I just want her to come back home."

Brittanee Drexel, 17, went missing in April while on vacation in Myrtle Beach for spring break, and Dawn Drexel got back into Myrtle Beach around 5 a.m. Thursday to continue the search for her daughter.

"You have to keep their name out there," she commented. "A lot of people don't do that."

However, the Community United Effort (CUE) Center for Missing Persons does, and that's part of the reason why Dawn Drexel is back. The CUE Center is profiling Brittanee this weekend, and hopes to get some attention from the Larry King Live show.

"It's hard, but you know if I can get coverage for Brittanee and keep her name out there and keep people looking, maybe something will come," said a spokesman for the teen's hotel.

It hasn't just been hard on Brittanee's mother. Her brother celebrated his 6th birthday without his sister.

"He actually got some balloons for his birthday and he ended up writing on them 'I love you Brit' and sent them up in the air thinking his sister may get them," Dawn Drexel said.

Though it has been tough for Dawn Drexel, she still has her hope, and that's what gets her through.

"We did have to come to the realization that she may not be alive," she said. "But we're still hoping that we'll be able to find her."

Person of Interest In Britanee Drexel Case

Britanee Drexel is the 17-year-old Rochester-area high school student, that just "disappeared" while on spring break in Myrtle Beach, and was given some air time last night on The Nancy Grace show.

What we know:
Britanee was told by her mother that she could not go to Myrtle Beach for spring break but she went anyway. Friday night she went out with friends in Myrtle beach then met up with them again the next day at the beach. Saturday night she was with friends at one hotel then walked to meet Peter Broswick at about 8 p.m.. Peter Broswick claims that she then left his hotel room alone later that night.

What is being reported:
Last night on Nancy Grace we heard from John Hahn, friend of Britanee, that Peter's story changed a couple of times and that it just didn't add up. He reported that Peter claimed to have just left at 2 a.m. in the morning because he said he needed to get back to school. He also left without picking up his 100$ deposit from the hotel.

Let's see here, last to see her, now she's missing, packs up his things in the middle of the night and hightails it home at 2a.m. . Now after changing his story a couple of times he's lawyer'd up and not talking.

Here's a picture of Peter Brozowitz:

Reported Sighting of Brittanee Drexel

Wednesday morning, maids on a county bus in Myrtle Beach reported seeing a girl fitting the description of Drexel getting off a bus on North Ocean Boulevard. This is the same area where she was last seen.

Police showed the women a picture of Drexel and they identified her as the girl on the bus.

Officers canvassed the area searching for Drexel and remain in the area completing an intensive search, but she still hasn't been found.

Drexel, 17, was reported missing early Sunday while visiting the area.

Missing Teen Didn't Have Mom's OK For Trip

(CNN) -- The mother of a 17-year-old Rochester, New York, high school student who vanished over the weekend on spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, says she did not give her daughter permission to go on the trip.

In an appearance on HLN's Nancy Grace, Dawn Drexel said her daughter, Brittanee Marie Drexel, has never run away.

Drexel said the high school junior stayed in touch with her by phone, and she last spoke with Brittanee on Saturday afternoon.

"I asked her what she was doing and she says 'Oh, mom, I'm at the beach.' And it was an 80-degree day in Rochester so, of course, I thought maybe she was at the beach in Rochester with one of her girlfriends that she had said she was staying overnight," Drexel said.

Drexel said she asked Brittanee to call her later and the girl agreed. "I said, 'I love you, Brittanee' and she says, 'I love you, mom.' And then we hung up the phone."

Brittanee is believed to have last been seen Saturday evening, though an unconfirmed sighting may have placed her at a restaurant on Sunday.

She was staying with friends at the Bar Harbor Hotel on North Ocean Boulevard, according to police reports.
