Teenage Sisters Found With Throats Slashed in NoHo

NORTH HOLLYWOOD -- Police are investigating the murders of 2 sister found in North Hollywood home with their throats slashed.

A third woman in her 40s was taken to Holy Cross Hospital with knife wounds.

Police say she is now considered a person of interest in the gruesome killings.

Relatives at the scene told KTLA that the girls were 14 and 17, and that the woman in the hospital is their mother.

Los Angeles police Capt. Ivan Minsal says officers found the bodies after responding to a 911 call Wednesday morning.

One of the victims was found in the main house and the other victim and the injured woman were found in a converted garage, he said.

It's believed all three lived in the converted garage with their grandmother.

She wasn't home at the time of the deadly attacks.

Detectives say they don't think the man who rents out the main house was home either.

The woman in her 40s owned the property, according to relatives. She was going through some tough financial times, so she was renting the main house out.

The names of the victim are not being released.
