Man Sought In Case Of Missing Woman

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. -- Authorities in Lake County on Friday identified a man on sex-offender probation as a person of interest in the case of a missing 81-year-old woman.

Lake County sheriff's detectives said they want to speak with Donald Otis Williams, 50, in the disappearance of Janet Louise Patrick, who was last seen on Monday. She was reported missing by friends two days later.

Detectives said Williams was caught on a surveillance camera at a Publix supermarket with Patrick on Monday.

Williams has been arrested in the past for armed carjacking, kidnapping and sexual assault, deputies said.

S.I. Suspect Eric Bellucci Told Friend He Was With Mossad Before Slayings of His Parents

They got him! Good!
NY Daily News- A mentally ill Staten Island man's behavior grew increasingly bizarre in the weeks leading up to the bloody slaying of his parents, a friend and police sources said.

Eric Bellucci, 30, called an old friend from Stuyvesant High School in the month before his parents' bodies were found on Wednesday night and said he was working with Israeli intelligence.

"He seemed a little paranoid," the friend told the Daily News. "He told me that he was working with the Mossad."

The friend, who asked to remain anonymous, said his former football teammate was worried about terrorism and cited the attempted Times Square bombing.

Scores of mourners paid their respects to Arthur Bellucci, 61, and Marian Bellucci, 56, at their wake yesterday, surrounded by bright flowers and collages of family photos.

"There's a lot of rage right now - it's the way he killed them," one mourner said.

Harry Ritt, 64, of Staten Island, said he had been friends with "Artie" since they worked together at a Wall Street brokerage firm in 1981.

"He was a great guy - very well liked," he said.

A law enforcement source said Bellucci's dad was killed in bed and suffered wounds that led cops to believe he raised his arms in defense.

His mother was stabbed in the throat and tried to make a run for the telephone, leaving blood spatters down the steps, the source said.

Cops believe Bellucci showered, changed clothes and wrapped up any cuts he suffered in the bloodbath, the source said.

Cops said Bellucci ditched his SUV near Newark Airport and caught a flight to Israel.

He was in Israel trying to buy a ticket to China when he was nabbed on Friday. The NYPD was expecting him to be extradited this morning.

A law enforcement source said that after his capture, Bellucci bizarrely told authorities that he was there to avenge his parents and find the Mossad agent who killed them.

Less than a week before the killing, Bellucci sent an email to an ex-girlfriend offering her $500 for the name of each person who caused their breakup, a police source said.

His sister, Vanessa Bellucci, 25, told cops her brother was furious because she and her parents were trying to get him help, a police source said.

She went to the home on Wednesday because her mom and dad weren't answering the phone. She opened the door, saw blood and ran out to call 911.

Since then, former classmates from high school and Williams College, his alma mater, have been calling the NYPD to report his troubling behavior, police sources said.tmoore@nydailynews.com

Woman Decapitated In Lewisville, Husband Suspected

Find this sick man!!
LEWISVILLE ―Lewisville police are looking for a man suspected of decapitating his wife Monday morning.

Police released a picture of 49-year-old Jose Corona, seen at right. They are calling him a "suspect and a person of interest" in the death of his wife.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner says the victim was 44-year-old Maria Santos Corona. According to friends, the couple has six children.

A mail carrier discovered Maria Corona's body in the middle of the street in the 1000 block of Shadow Wood Lane in Lewisville and contacted police shortly after 11 a.m.

When police arrived they found the body and searched the area for a suspect, but didn't find anyone.

Police will say only that the victim's body was "mutilated." But Chopper 11 video of the scene, which we have chosen not to publish, clearly shows the decapitated body and the head.

Neighbor Chris Cortopassi told CBS 11 News, "I was driving down the street, coming home, and I saw somebody laying on the ground with blood all over. And I saw a girl outside screaming and somebody trying to hold her back."

Police say they don't know if the murder took place at the home or somewhere else.

Police say Jose Corona may be driving a 2005 Toyota Sequoia SUV with Texas license plate 247-DVH. Police say he has relatives in Oklahoma and in Mexico.

If you have seen Jose Corona or know his whereabouts, you're asked to call 911 or Lewisville Police at (972) 219-3640.

Jailbreak Fugitive Updates Facebook Page

London, England (CNN) -- British police have appealed for information about the whereabouts of an escaped prisoner who has been telling the world via Facebook about his life as a fugitive.

Craig Lynch, 28, escaped Hollesley Bay open prison near Suffolk, eastern England, back in September, but has continued to update his Facebook status regularly -- describing everything from his meals to who his next girlfriend will be.

"mmm i just had a 12lb venison steak. Roasted veg and chips, bangin meal. I feel stuffed but still got room for the j.d's . Hope you enjoyed the meal babe's. We'll have to eat here again" Lynch wrote on his wall.

In another posting from earlier this week Lynch wrote "Is thinkin, which lucky girl will be my first of 2010!!."

Police are trying to use clues left by Lynch on his Facebook to track down where the convicted burglar may be hiding.

Lynch was sentenced to a seven-year prison term for aggravated burglary and was serving his sentence in an open prison before his escape, according to a police spokeswoman.

"We have spoken to Facebook and we are trying to trace him from the information we have, but it's one of those things that we're also asking for help from members of the public," Suffolk police spokesperson Anne-Marie Breach told CNN.

"Obviously we're taking what he's saying on Facebook with a pinch of salt because he's now aware that people may be reading what he's writing."

News that Lynch's Facebook was being updated broke yesterday and since then, he has written several times of his life on-the-run.

"The hotel staff haven't even clocked which was the only thing I've been paranoid about all day!" he wrote.

Lynch's most recent posting read "well what can i say fellow friends. The run is nearly over. Sorry some of you had to find out like this. I know some of you might take offence that i never told you personally. But you know me. I Trust No One. Its the only way to be."

Federal Agents Apprehend Fugitive After 15 Years

WASHAKIE COUNTY, Wyoming (CNN) -- Federal agents have apprehended accused child molester Edward Eugene Harper, who was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, an FBI official said Thursday.

Harper, 63, is accused of molesting two girls, ages 3 and 8, in his neighborhood in Hernando, Mississippi, more than a decade ago, the FBI said.

The FBI said it received a telephone tip in June at the Denver office regarding Harper, and brought a SWAT team and a hostage negotiation team to apprehend him in rural Wyoming on Thursday.

He surrendered without incident, the FBI said, and later admitted his identity to agents.

Harper was living in a 1979 truck with a camper top in the southern portion of Washakie County's Big Horn Mountains, the FBI said.

He is believed to have lived a nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place and earning a living by doing odd jobs and herding sheep, the FBI said in a statement.

He was indicted in April 1994 with conspiracy to commit sexual battery, fondling a child and sexual battery.

He failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing and a state warrant was issued for his arrest in October 1994. He was later charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, a federal offense. The FBI added him to its 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list last year.

Before living in Mississippi, Harper had been a ranch hand, working with cattle and sheep in Montana and Wyoming, the FBI said in its release on Harper last year. He has also worked as a truck driver, the agency said.

According to the FBI, Harper subscribed to "sovereign citizen" ideology and claimed to be a member of the Montana Freemen, a group that rejected the authority of the U.S. government. The group became famous for an 81-day standoff with federal agents in Montana in 1996.

But after the arrest and conviction of many of its members, the group essentially disintegrated, according to Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

"As far as I know," they don't exist, he said. "Most of them went to prison and there was nothing left."

Grandmother Says Rescued Girl Won't Return to Mother

(CNN) -- A 4-year-old, whose mother took her cross-country with her sex-offender boyfriend, won't be handed back to her mother, according to the girl's maternal grandmother.

"There's no way that I would do that," Mary Watson said Wednesday on HLN's "Nancy Grace."

Watson said she plans to follow the decisions of social services agencies overseeing the well-publicized case of young Haylee Donathan and will not let Haylee see her mother, Candace Watson.

"If (she) is not allowed to see her, she is not allowed to see her," Mary Watson said. "That's the way it is going to be."

Candace Watson, 24, and her boyfriend, Robbie Potter, 27, were arrested Tuesday in a raid at The Morning Star Ranch, a Christian communal farm in a rural part of San Diego County, California.

Authorities also found Haylee at the ranch and said they plan to return the girl to her grandmother.

Haylee had been missing for 27 days and the search to find her had been highlighted by national television current-affairs shows.

The grandmother, who received temporary court-ordered custody of the girl so an Amber Alert could be issued during the search, said she had not seen Haylee since she was found because she was being examined in California. Shortly after she was found, the girl was said to be in good condition.

"I want to tell her how I love her and we all love her and want her to come home soon," Mary Watson said.

Acting on a tip from former retreat visitors who saw a billboard of Haylee in the Las Vegas area, law enforcement stormed the usually placid ranch, whose members work the land, do household chores and share Christian beliefs and teachings.

The search for Haylee was sparked by authorities' concern for her safety.

Investigators say the three left Mansfield, Ohio, by car on May 28. The same day, Candace Watson and others allegedly had helped Potter escape from a halfway house, according to officials.

After she was arrested, Watson said she "was in love with him and knew she would help him any way she could," Pete Elliott, the U.S. marshal for the northern district of Ohio, told "Nancy Grace."

Note, Rat Poison Found In Teens' Hotel Room

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. -- A suicide note, rat poison and marijuana were among the items found in a hotel room occupied by a teen couple suspected of killing the girl's mother.

Tylar Witt, 14, and her boyfriend, Steven "Boston" Colver, 19, were captured last week in San Bruno. They're accused of killing Joanne Witt, 47, at her home in El Dorado Hills.

A search warrant of the Holiday Inn Gold hotel room in San Francisco was returned Tuesday. Some of the items police found include two purple bowls with cereal and rat poison, about 5 grams of marijuana, a marijuana pipe and a suicide note that said, "You will find us together, dead on a beach..."

Police in San Francisco found the teens' car in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood, and the pair was arrested after a manhunt in the Bay Area.

Condoms, a Rubio's apron, a nametag that said "Boston" and a "Donnie Darko" DVD were also found inside the hotel room on Van Ness Avenue. Colver's Facebook page said he worked at a Rubio's restaurant in Folsom.

Police believe the teens used a knife to kill Joanne Witt, whose body was found June 15 inside a home on Tattinger Court.

A statement from a detective said Joanne Witt was stabbed in the neck. She had cuts in her shirt consistent with stab wounds, her upper torso and face were covered in blood, and there was blood on her legs. A blanket was draped over her head.

Vincent Catapano, Joanne Witt's boyfriend, reported her as a missing person on June 15, the same day her body was found.

On Monday, Tylar Witt waived her right to hear the juvenile petition filed against her. The judge told Witt she could face 25 years to life. He ordered her to stay in custody of probation in juvenile detention.

Colver pleaded not guilty to murder charges on Monday.

A group of classmates of Witt and Colver, who both attended Oak Ridge High School gathered outside the courthouse on Monday. Some people described Witt as "self-centered." Another teen, who said he hadn't talked to Witt in a year or two, said his younger sister broke off a friendship with Witt.

"I know her mom loved her a lot and she just tried to do everything for her," classmate Joey Pacific said. "And Tylar just did not appreciate anything that her mom did."

Meanwhile, Kellyann Conway, an acquaintance of the victim, said Tylar was loving toward her mother and saw her "smile at her, laugh with her."

Witt's MySpace page details her changing moods. On June 9, Witt wrote, "I am the happiest person in the world... even though I'm surrounded by hell, I'm in heaven."

She also blogged, "and wen i brake down crying bcz im so lonely or i get in a fight with my mother.. and theres no other comfort in the world i can turn to.. "

Joanne Witt took steps in the past month to seek statutory rape charges against Colver, sources said. In addition, Tylar Witt was recently arrested on charges that she assaulted her mother.

Haylee Donathan Is ALIVE! YES!

(CNN) -- A tip from an isolated communal farm in rural San Diego County, California, may have led police to solve the well-publicized case of a missing 4-year-old Ohio girl.

Authorities stormed the ranch in a dramatic Tuesday afternoon raid to find young Haylee Donathan; her mother, Candace Watson; and Robbie Potter, Watson's boyfriend and a registered sex offender who had escaped from a half-way house.

Haylee had been missing for 27 days, and the search for her had been spotlighted on national television current affairs shows.

In a news conference Tuesday, police did not say what lead them to the remote Morning Star Ranch to rescue Haylee.

Despite exhaustive media coverage and hundreds of law enforcement agencies on the case, Haylee and the two adults had spent more than a week on the ranch without raising suspicions, said Kevin Carlin, a member of the ranch in the neighborhood of Valley Center.

Ranch members became suspicious when a former guest saw billboards urging help in finding Haylee and the two adults while traveling in Las Vegas, Nevada, Carlin said during a phone interview.

The ranch contacted police, who coordinated the secret rescue mission pulled off Tuesday.

"We cooperated fully," he said.

In an Ohio news conference, Peter Elliott, United States marshal for the northern district of Ohio, said of the many tips that came in, one in particular helped break the case. But he did not elaborate.

Before ranch members became suspicious, Haylee, her mother and Potter seemed like a happy family, Carlin said.

"We thought they were a couple," Carlin said. "We thought she was their child. We treated them as guests. They helped us and we provided for their basic needs," said Carlin, explaining that no one at the ranch knew Watson and Potter were wanted.

They told their hosts they were married, he said.

"They seemed nice enough," Carlin said, adding that it is not in the group members' nature to be suspicious of others, so they take people at their word and do not grill new members about their lives or background.

"We pray to be delivered from evil every day, and we obviously were. We're just so thankful."

Watson and Potter kept a low profile, doing their chores in the kitchen and on the farm, Carlin said. He described Haylee as a sweet little girl who played well with the other children on the ranch, a 66-acre plot in rural San Diego County.

According to Carlin, the 6-year-old community is part of a worldwide messianic Christian organization known as The Twelve Tribes.

Just before the raid, Carlin said the other families were moved to safety but went about their own business, even going for a swim.

"It was pretty tense because there were armed men on our property and helicopters overhead," he said. '"The couple didn't resist arrest, and it went smoothly."

A few families live on the ranch in several separate homes, according to Carlin, who declined to give an exact number of people.

Haylee, Watson and Potter slept in the same room, but Carlin said he was not sure if they slept in the same bed.

Last week, in an interview on HLN's Nancy Grace, Watson's roommate said she saw all three in one bed the morning they disappeared, a revelation that further alarmed authorities.

Got the Sucker

4th St. Tammany escapee caught; massive manhunt ends-
NEW ORLEANS – A massive, two-day manhunt is over after deputies find a man who escaped from the St. Tammany Parish jail.

Early Sunday morning law enforcement officers found 30-year-old Timothy Murray in a rural area three miles west of Highway 25 in Folsom.

Murray eluded law enforcement officers for more than 48 hours. But the hunt for him ended around 1 a.m. with his capture.

Officers discovered Murray in a wooded area off of Bennett Bridge Road near Folsom, no more than five miles from the St. Tammany Parish jail.

Murray was one of three men who broke out of the jail Thursday night. All of them were in jail on charges of murder or attempted murder. Murray himself faced a murder charge for the death of a Slidell man back in 2006.

Deputies caught three of the escapees Friday morning, but Murray eluded them until now.

People who live near where Murray was caught say there were several dozen law enforcement vehicles and a helicopter hovering in that vicinity over night. They say deputies shut down Highway 1078, not letting anyone in or out of the area in their final push to find Murray.

'It's upsetting that they wouldn't let us back in. So, as time went on, we sat on the side of the road. It was hot, we didn't want to leave the car on and we stayed there for about an hour, and hour and 10, 15 minutes,” said resident Wayne Charrier. “They had like a family out there, they had like four or five people coming home and of course they wouldn't let none of them-- one group, one couple was so close, they could almost see their house, but they still would not let them through.

“But they got a job to do," Charrier said.

St. Tammany Sheriff Jack Strain has scheduled a news conference for Monday afternoon, where he is expected to discuss what led deputies to Murray's location. Strain said hundreds of law enforcement officers helped in the search.

He said he would not comment further on the situation so that those officers could celebrate Father's Day.

"You do kind of get in the habit of thinking like the Northshore is kind of its own little island, and separate from everything-- but every so often something happens that rocks the whole area,” said resident Amanda Ladreyt. “It's just one of those things, I guess. I think it does remind you that you're not on your little island and no place is Pleasantville.”

Hunt under way for escaped murder suspect in Louisiana

(CNN) -- More than 100 police officers and others were searching Friday in a southeastern Louisiana parish for a murder suspect who escaped from jail with three other inmates, a law enforcement official said.

Searchers are still focusing inside St. Tammany Parish, on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain, 30 miles north of New Orleans, said Capt. George Bonnett of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

At large is Timothy Murray, 29, who is charged with murder, Bonnett said. Authorities believe Murray may have been injured during the escape, but Bonnett wouldn't elaborate.

The inmates escaped about 9 p.m. Thursday from the St. Tammany Parish Jail in Covington, Bonnett said. As many as 250 sheriff's deputies, Covington police officers, Louisiana State police and corrections officials were involved in the search overnight, using dogs, two helicopters and thermal-imaging equipment loaned from Livingston Parish, Bonnett said.

The other three men were found about 1:30 a.m. Friday in a wooded area about a mile from the jail, he said.

Three of the inmates were awaiting trial; one already had been convicted, Bonnett said.

The captured inmates were Gary Slaydon, 27; Eric Buras, 30, and Jason Gainey, 27. Slaydon is charged with attempted murder. Buras is a murder suspect and Gainey has been convicted of murder, Bonnett said.

He said the escape was not discovered until a resident and Covington police reported seeing what appeared to be inmates in jail uniforms walking down a street.

About the time those calls came in, jailers were doing a routine head count and found the four men missing, Bonnett said.

He said the means of escape was under investigation, but it has been determined that their escape wasn't due to human error.

He repeated what St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said early Friday: "Four inmates were able to defeat the structure of the maximum security area of our jail."

Deputies have canvassed neighborhoods, going door to door to warn residents that an inmate is still at large.

Haylee Donathan Wal-Mart Surveillance Video

NEW INFORMATION--Police have discovered a surveillance tape they say may offer clues in the case of missing 4-year-old Haylee Donathan.

Haylee disappeared while on a camping trip with her mother Candace Watson and her boyfriend Robbi Potter, a convicted sex offender.

Video from a Walmart in Marion apparently shows Haylee's mother aays after the little girl was last seen by family members.

The video goes on to show a man believed to be Potter in a truck outside with a little girl.

"It's just so hard for me to believe that she would leave her in the truck. I just don't understand it," said Mary Watson, Haylee's grandmother.

The hope is that the video paired with a $10,000 reward will bring Haylee home.

Over 1,200 Fugitives Surrender At Church

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Over 1,200 fugitives wanted for non-violent crimes turned themselves in during the four-day "Safe Surrender" program at Zion Assembly Church in Harrisburg.

Officials said that they satisfied nearly 6,000 outstanding warrants. Some of the 1,281 fugitives had multiple warrants.

Other fugitives came from as far away as Hawaii and the Dominican Republic.

Officials also said that the results were better than expected.

"Safe Surrender" is a federal program that intends to get non-violent offenders to come forward and face their charges in a safe environment.

CRAWFORD COUNTY (WTOL) - A nationwide search is underway for little Haylee Donathan.

The 4-year-old girl was last seen more than a week ago in Crestline, and investigators say she may be in danger.

They believe she's with her mother and Robbi Potter. Potter spent 3 years in prison for sexually assaulting two children.

One of the victims' mothers has a warning for Haylee's mom.

"I would tell her to get away. Run, as fast as you can. I mean, even if she doesn't do it for herself, she's gotta do it for her child," the mother said.

Haylee's father, his girlfriend and the girl's uncle are charged with helping Potter escape.

Investigators were checking possible leads near Phoenix, Ariz., after receiving tips that Haylee may be there. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is handling the search.

"I'm a father myself and I can just imagine the fear in this girl, so we're not going to stop, we're going to keep going until we get her back safely," said Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Drew Deserto.

Deserto said they are willing to speak with Potter and Haylee's mother to arrange a 'safe surrender.'

Talks are underway to get the case featured on America's Most Wanted.

Man Wanted in Connection with Brother's Murder; Ex-girlfriend Missing

WINCHESTER, Va. - Investigators spent Friday searching the banks of the Shenandoah River for a 22-year-old woman whose disappearance coincided with a manhunt for her ex-boyfriend, a suspect in the murder of his brother.

The mother of Kayleigh Marie Plamondon publicly pleaded for help finding her daughter Friday.

"We miss Kayleigh. We love Kayleigh. We want Kayleigh to be found," said Debbie Plamondon, pleading for 21-year-old Justin Shane Slater, who is wanted on a murder warrant, to contact her. "I really need to hear from you now, because if I can go to Kayleigh, that will be my next step," she said. "My next step is to find her and make sure that she's safe and that I can help her."

Kayleigh Plamondon was last seen Wednesday afternoon. Investigators searching the farm where she was house sitting came across disturbing signs.

"There was significant evidence to believe that there was a violent confrontation at the house that she was sitting at," said Investigator Trisha Putnam with the Clarke County Sheriff's Office.

Justin Shane Slater, 21, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the Frederick County, Va., Sheriff's Office.

The body of Slater's brother, Gregory Scott Slater Jr., 28, was found early Thursday morning. He had been shot to death, police said. Justin is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with the shooting.

Slater is described as 6'1", 170 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He is believed to be driving a 1999 Jeep SUV, brownish gold in color, with Virginia tags XXG3569, investigators said. The vehicle has flaring on the wheel wells and window tinting on the right side, but not the left side, police said. The back, driver's-side compartment window is also broken, according to police.

Investigators ask anyone who sees Slater or the vehicle to call 911 immediately.

Rockefeller Poser Gets Up to 5 Years For Kidnapping

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN/IN Session) -- A German man who called himself Clark Rockefeller and passed himself off for years as a member of the moneyed clan was sentenced Friday to four to five years in prison for kidnapping his daughter.

Earlier in the day, a jury of eight women and four men found Christian Carl Gerhartsreiter, 48, guilty of the kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Judge Frank M. Gaziano noted that Gerhartsreiter showed little regard for the impact his actions had on his former wife and daughter. He said he also considered the defendant's long history of deceptive and manipulative behavior, including the use of multiple aliases.

Gerhartsreiter already has spent a year in jail, meaning that with credit for good behavior he could spend just another year or two in prison.

Gerhartstreiter, who was born in Germany and is in the U.S. illegally, faces removal by immigration authorities when he completes his sentence.

In addition, his lawyer said, authorities in Los Angeles, California, have convened a grand jury to investigate his possible role in the 1985 deaths of a couple who rented a carriage house to him.

The defendant stared straight ahead as the judge announced the sentence. He was equally impassive when the jury returned its verdicts.

The jury rejected Gerhartsreiter's insanity defense, but found him not guilty of two lesser charges after deliberating for 26½ hours over five days.

He faces up to 15 years in prison. A sentencing hearing was set to begin at 2 p.m. ET.

"Today the victims in this case have some sense of justice, I hope," said Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley "We are very happy with today's verdict. We're very happy with the jury."

After announcing the verdict, all 12 jurors returned to the courtroom and delivered a prepared statement.

"This was a complicated case, and not as clear-cut as it might have seemed to those who followed it in the media," the jurors' statement said

"We are confident that our verdict is fair and just, and based only on the information we were legally allowed to consider," it continued. "Our verdict is a unanimous one, as the law requires, and all of us stand by the verdict completely. "

The jurors said the terse statement was their final word on the case. They did not take questions.

The case has attracted international attention because of the defendant's bogus claim to be related to the Rockefellers, one of America's wealthiest families. He fooled even his wife of 12 years, who said on the witness stand that she had "a blind spot" for a man who charmed her, then controlled her and bullied her.

Prosecutors said Gerhartsreiter came to the United States from Germany in 1978 as a student. They said he is a con man who has been telling fanciful tales and misrepresenting himself ever since.

The defense said he has long suffered from mental illness that boiled over into insanity when he abducted his 7-year-old daughter, Reigh, last summer.

The jury heard closing arguments and legal instructions before retiring for deliberation Monday.

"This is not a man playing with a full deck," said Jeffrey Denner, one of two lawyers who gave closing arguments for the defense.

According to testimony from defense experts, Gerhartsreiter believed his daughter was in danger. He also believed they could communicate telepathically and shared a secret language.

"You see him descending into madness," Denner said. "You see completely irrational action that other people are buying because of the name Rockefeller and the appearance, the veneer, of respectability with a powerful wife."

The defense called two experts who, he said, spent 28 hours with the defendant before diagnosing him as having a narcissistic personality disorder and grandiose delusions.

Prosecutor David Deakin called the insanity diagnosis "preposterous." He argued, "This is not a case about madness. It's a case about manipulation."

He described Gerhartsreiter as a controlling man who was angry that his former wife, Sandra Boss, had moved with their daughter to London in December 2007.

According to testimony, Boss, a Harvard business school graduate and senior partner at McKinsey & Co., a global management consulting company, took full custody of the child, giving her ex-husband $800,000, two cars, her engagement ring and a dress he had bought her.

She said she believed the fanciful stories her husband wove around his image as Clark Rockefeller and never saw any sign of mental illness.

Denner asked how a successful businesswoman who was educated at Stanford and Harvard universities and made $1 million a year could fall for an impostor.

"There's a big difference between intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence," Boss explained. "I'm not saying I made a very good choice of a husband. It's obvious I had a pretty big blind spot."

"He told compelling stories," she said. "It seems stupid in hindsight, and it really was, but that is how it was. ... I lived with a person who told me a set of internally consistent things."

"I was completely traumatized," Boss said of the abduction. "I was hysterical."

Authorities Hunt for Man Charged With Threatening Obama

(CNN) -- Federal authorities are searching for a man who has at least eight guns registered to him and has threatened to kill President Obama.

The man, identified as Daniel James Murray, is charged with making threats against the president of the United States.

He recently withdrew $85,000 from a Utah bank and told a teller: "We are on a mission to kill the president of the United States," according to court papers.

Murray is originally from New York, but was seen several times in late May in St. George, Utah, making bizarre statements at a bank.

According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in Utah, Murray opened an account at Zions First National Bank on May 19 with a $85,000 check.

"With all this mess going on under President Obama with banks and the economy, I'm sure if citizens happen to lose their money, they will rise up and we could see killing and deaths," he said, according to the criminal complaint.

On May 27, he returned to the bank and tried to withdraw $12,000, but lacked proper identification.

"Not to be disrespectful, but if I don't get this money, someone is going to die," Murray said, according to the criminal complaint.

A bank manager was summoned and Murray was allowed to withdraw the money without proper identification.

Murray would not accept a check and demanded bills no larger than $50, the complaint says.

"We are 94 million miles from the sun, and are in between the sun and moon, and the eagle that flies between them and it's a giant step for mankind. ... I have traveled thousands of miles to be here and know things that are going to happen. ... the banking system will fail and people will die. ... there will be chaos in the world," Murray said.

He then made his threat against the president, the complaint says.

The next day, Murray returned to the bank, withdrew the rest of his money and closed the account.

Authorities do not know where Murray is and said he has been seen driving a blue 2001 Buick LeSabre with New York license plate number ERL 1445.

There are at least eight guns registered to Murray, including semi-automatic pistols and revolvers.

The president is on an overseas tour, having given a major foreign-policy speech in Egypt addressed to Muslims worldwide. He is now in Germany.

Reward For Former Deputy Charged With Double Murder Increases To $10,000

DEKALB COUNTY --- DeKalb County authorities said Thursday they believe the family of a former DeKalb County sheriff's deputy wanted for a double murder helped with his escape and are assisting him financially.

Sheriff Thomas Brown announced that a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Derrick Yancey has been increased to $10,000.

Yancey was arrested in August 2008 for the murder of his wife and a male worker at his home in Stone Mountain. He has been on the run since April 4th when he cut off his monitoring bracelet while on house arrest.

At a Thursday news conference, Brown released video of Yancey at the Greyhound Bus Station in downtown Atlanta, buying a ticket for Los Angeles.

Brown says authorities have determined that Yancey arrived in Dallas on April 5, took another bus to Amarillo, Texas, and then transferred to a bus that was scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles on April 6. Brown says Yancey was spotted in Phoenix on April 6, which was one of the scheduled stops on the Los Angeles trip.

DeKalb County prosecutors contend Yancey plotted to make the murders look like a robbery.

Yancey told investigators that the worker shot and killed his wife, but police contend Yancey was actually the triggerman in both murders.

Authorities believe he has altered his appearance and may be living in Mexico off of $18,000 that he withdrew from his police pension.

"Smart" Woman Says She Fell For a Phony

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- She brought home $1 million a year as a high-powered financial executive, yet she told a jury she woke up hungry in a cold house because her husband controlled everything.

She said it took years to leave the man who told her he was a member of the moneyed Rockefeller clan because she didn't know the online passwords to their bank accounts.

Being the breadwinner offered her no status in her marriage, Sandra Lynn Boss, 42, testified Tuesday at her former husband's kidnapping trial.

"You mistakenly confuse money and power. Money and power are not the same thing in a relationship," she explained under cross-examination by her former husband's defense attorney, Jeffrey Denner, who at times seemed stunned by her answers.

The defense attorney asked Boss why she didn't assert herself given that she was a "dynamic, intelligent woman" who was the sole wage-earner. She responded, "I did assert myself but the abuse was pretty rough. There was a lot of anger and yelling."

She said she believed the fanciful stories her husband wove around his image as Clark Rockefeller and never saw any sign of mental illness.

Denner asked how a successful businesswoman who was educated at Stanford and Harvard universities could fall for an impostor who called himself Clark Rockefeller.

"There's a big difference between intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence," Boss explained. "I'm not saying I made a very good choice of a husband. It's obvious I had a pretty big blind spot."

Rockefeller, whose real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, is accused of kidnapping their daughter, Reigh, in July and taking the child to Baltimore, Maryland, where he'd bought a townhouse near the harbor. His trial began last week in Boston, Massachusetts.

In her second day on the stand, Boss described the decline of a marriage that began with a whirlwind summer romance before her second year at Harvard business school. By the time her marriage ended, she said, "My personal life was scary."

She repeatedly referred to her 48-year-old ex-husband as "the defendant." Defense attorney Denner referred to his client as "Clark" during questioning.

Boss, who now lives in London, England, with Reigh, 8, publicly told her story for the first time on the witness stand. She has been excoriated in the media. One New York writer called her a "ding-bat doormat" who married a "Crockefeller."

It's more complicated than that, Boss explained under cross-examination. "He told compelling stories. It seems stupid in hindsight, and it really was, but that is how it was. ... I lived with a person who told me a set of internally consistent things."

And so, she never questioned why he never seemed to make any money, possess a driver's license, or bring any family around. She had no doubt he had a billion-dollar art collection, even if she was annoyed he would refuse to sell off a piece or two when money got tight.

She was questioned at length about one particularly bizarre story he told. He said a fall down some stairs left him mute as a child -- until he saw a dog and spontaneously uttered "woofness" at age 10. She did acknowledge on the stand that she considered "woofness" to be a "stupid word."

She initiated divorce proceedings after hiring a private investigator in 2006, who determined that her husband definitely was not who he said he was. He agreed to part, surrendering custody of their daughter for $800,000, two cars, her engagement ring and a dress he had given her.

On July 27, during an agreed-upon custodial visit, he allegedly abducted Reigh.

"I was completely traumatized," Boss said. "I was hysterical."

Denner questioned Boss at length about his client's mental state during their marriage. She said he told her in 1999 that he thought he was having a nervous breakdown after the Asian market collapse. They moved from New York as a result.

But, despite the defense attorney's prodding, Boss would not characterize her former husband as delusional.

"The defendant was often very unpleasant -- lack of empathy, anger, control issues, absolutely. I'm not a psychologist, but he was hard to live with ... I saw behavior that made me think that he wasn't at all well, yes," she testified.

Again, Denner suggested that her situation did not make sense, pointing out, "You are a consultant with one of the most prestigious companies."

Boss replied: "I come from a place where you don't even jaywalk. It never occurred to me that I was living with someone who was lying to me."

She added, "He was lying to a lot of people."

She was followed to the stand by FBI experts and another former wife. The defense case could begin Wednesday.

Authorities Arrest Mom For Medical Neglect of 555-Pound Teen

(CNN) -- South Carolina authorities have located a 555-pound teenager and his mother, who faces a charge of violating a custody order, police said Thursday.

Alexander Deundray Draper, 14, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and his mother, Jerri Althea Gray, were located at about 4:30 p.m. near a laundromat in Baltimore, Maryland, by the Baltimore County Sheriff's Office, said Matt Armstrong, a spokesman for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office in Greenville, South Carolina.

"Draper was checked out by EMS [Emergency Medical Services] personnel and turned over to the Maryland Department of Social Services," Armstrong said.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services will work with its Maryland counterpart to have the boy returned to South Carolina, he told CNN affiliate WYFF.

The mother is being held in a detention center and will be extradited to South Carolina on an outstanding warrant, he said.

"The understanding was that the individual was of the weight where it was decided by medical authorities that he needed treatment that was not being provided for by his mother," Armstrong said.

Earlier in the day officials said the boy "is possibly at a stage of critical health risk."

Gray was supposed to appear in family court Tuesday with her son and failed to do so, the sheriff's office said. During the family court hearing, the boy was ordered into state custody because of medical neglect, as well as his mother's failure to appear. The Department of Social Services then contacted the sheriff's office, authorities said.

The warrant said Gray was served with papers Monday and told to report to court for a hearing in which the department would seek state custody of Draper. "The defendant has avoided the custody proceeding and has concealed the child," the warrant says.

Travelers Rest is about 10 miles north of Greenville, South Carolina
