New ground search for clues to missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.Capt. Dick Schauland of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said about 100 deputies from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Police Academy, U.S. Coast Guard, Fish and Wildlife, Putnam Correctional Institution, Bradford County Horse Posse and the Clay, Marion and St. Johns county sheriff's offices are covering new ground.
They'll be spreading out along U.S. 17 from Buffalo Bluff Road to Paradise Shores Road north of Crescent City. The search will include the highway and approximately 30 yards off each side of the roadway, Schauland said.
The search is not the result of any new information.
