My grandmother's cousin's husband died of cancer today, April 9th, 2009 after a nine year battle. For his type of cancer, multiple melanoma, he was only expected seven years.
I remember him always smiling at me, and asking me inquisitive questions whenever I saw him as a child, and this fond memory of him is how I'll see him when we meet again in heaven.
